Oklahoma District Attorney David Prater released the couple saying it was a "misunderstanding". Often police and prosecutors are challenged with the difficult task of finding the evidence needed or getting the victims to cooperate with a collaborating testimony that can be used in court. When victims fear for their safety, they seldom come forward with the truth during initial interviews with law enforcement.

Taylor was busted on May 6 after Bronx cops rescued the petite runaway forced into prostitution from her alleged "bad ass" pimp, 36-year-old Rasheed Davis. The ex-linebacker admitted paying a hooker $300 for sex, according to a criminal complaint against Davis, who was hit with a sex trafficking charge in Manhattan Federal Court last Friday.
In an interview with The Daily News, the baby-faced teen insisted Tuesday that she and Taylor "definitely had intercourse" - and that he paid her $300 in cash when they were done. "If he's saying we didn't, that's not true," she told the News. The curly-haired, teenager recounted again how Taylor's condom "got stuck inside" and how he told her not to worry about getting pregnant because "he was fixed."
"He had to put his fingers inside me to get it out," she said.
"I got it over with as quickly as I could. Afterward, all he said was turn off the TV before you leave." |

Police report that at least 1 in 5 girls being prostituted at our truck stops are under the age of 18. Trapped in a lifestyle of servicing men that are often old enough to be their grandfather in this horrific form of "modern slavery".
Watch the video at KOKH-TV Oklahoma City to hear from one of Oklahoma's top law enforcement officers from the OKCPD Predator Unit describe the problem that we have here in Oklahoma.

Innocence Lost - Cross Country sting operation to rescue children being prostituted in 36 cities includes Tulsa and Oklahoma City. 52 children, the youngest being only 10, were rescued by authorities in a three day sting operation across the nation from truck stops, casinos and internet sites. To date the initiative has resulted in over 500 convictions and nearly 900 children rescued.
Child welfare groups estimate around 2 million children run away from home each year and approximately 300,000 are lured into the sex trafficking industry each year. Most of these are introduced to prostitution between the ages of 12 to 14 by pimps and traffickers as a means of survival on the streets. How many customers were arrested?

Largest child sex trafficking ring in the Midwest broken up by authorities included 5 men and one woman operating out of Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Wichita, Tulsa, Oklahoma City and cities in Florida. Trafficker Ronnie Presley was caught in Oklahoma. Women and children were beaten, pistol whipped, taken from their homes, coersed and forced to work in prostitution at truck stops, massage parlors, night clubs, modeling studios, health clubs, bikini bars, escort services and on-line dating sites. Good Job to Texas joint agency Task Force and to the FBI here in Oklahoma!

The latest report of Sex Trafficking here in America was just released through Shared Hope in Washington D.C. 10 cities in America were assessed in this report including Dallas to our South and Kansas City to our North.
The key finding of this report on domestic trafficking in America is"Misidentification of Victims". Misidentification causes a chain reaction of negative outcomes that re-traumatize or even criminalize the victim while the trafficker walks free.
This occurs at all levels: First Responders / Law Enforcement / Homeless & Runaway Shelters / Court Adjudication / Social Services / Medical Clinics
Misidentification can be remedied only through awareness and education. See full report at our recent articles section below on right side.

This, the third such sting operation under the directed by the FBI's Innocence Loss program, has rescued 48 underage girls being prostituted, 50 pimps, and an undisclosed number of customers... and that is a first! For the first time customers were included as criminal targets by the FBI. Some have been saying that unless we start focusing on the "demand " side of this issue, nothing will change. The men that buy and rent children for sex in this country have not been held accountable... and until a message is sent that those who sexually abuse little girls are going to pay for it, nothing will change. Thankfully customers were actually arrested this time, yet unfortunately, no information pertaining to these "Johns" has been released so that the message can be sent. A recent report conducted by "The Sex Workers Project," given the title "Kicking Down The Door," discusses the many traumatic issues involved when vice raids are used to reach and help the victims of human trafficking. The study interviewing 46 people comes to some eye-opening problems associated with this approach. Read the summary article listed in our Recent Articles section and make your comments on what we in Oklahoma can do as a coalition to help improve the aid to victims.
